‘Go Bananas for Fairtrade!’ is a thought provoking workshop, adaptable for either KS1 or KS2 and takes students on the journey of bananas from farm to fruit bowl, exploring supply chains and discovering the importance of Fairtrade.
“A hands-on workshop for my Year 2 children, they got a real sense of ‘fairness’ in enjoyable child focussed activities. The workshop proved a brilliant way to kick-start our research into Fairtrade and global issues.” Archibald Primary School – Teacher Feedback
Through games, debates, workshops and presentations to discover about life as a banana farmer in Colombia, participants develop their speaking and listening skills; are able to talk about their opinions and explain their views. Students will also develop their sense of social justice and moral responsibility; recognising the role of voluntary, community and pressure groups.
“Engaging and informative the workshop gave my Year 5 students a better understanding of supply chains and the importance of Fairtrade with lots of practical educational activities.” Belgrave St Bartholomew’s Academy – Teacher Feedback
