There are many ways to be SCRAPtastic this half term so we thought we’d share 3 ways on our blog this week! But firstly…..what is SCRAPtastic? Well, according to the young people who join our SCRAPtastic workshops it is “EPIC!” but that still doesn’t really answer the question!
SCRAPtastic is what we call our creative art workshops. We only ever use materials that would ordinarily be thrown away, materials that end up in our everyday household rubbish. Showing you that creative art doesn’t haven’t to cost the earth, nor you a fortune. Many craft kits use virgin plastic materials that can’t be reused or recycled. Everything SCRAPtastic uses is either recycled or repurposed. We have a team of recycling volunteers who save their scrap and we keep an eye out with local businesses for items we can rescue from landfill. Don’t throw it away, make something!

Get yourself a SCRAPtastic book! A book we wrote, designed and published to showcase lots of SCRAPtastic ideas. There are 5 chapters, each with 5 crafts, each sharing simple step by step instructions on how to turn household rubbish into works of art. From bottles, card, paper, fabric and plastics. No need to spend a fortune on craft kits – all you need for SCRAPtastic will be in your recycling bin!
Throughout half term we’re offering FREE felt or tissue paper with every order of a SCRAPtastic book. So place your order today: https://www.fairandfunky.com/fairtrade-online-shop/books/scraptastic-book/
