‘Meet fairandfunky and friends’ is our new blog series to get to know the people behind fairandfunky, the people we work with, and how together, we take little steps to change the world. Today we invite fairandfunky director Hannah Tombling to the blog and ask her to answer our tricky questions…..
Who are you, where are you from and what do you do? I’m Hannah, from Dewsbury, I am a mum of three boys, I am an early years teacher, leading science, eco schools and outdoor learning at Diamond Wood Community Academy. I am also a Brownie Leader.
What makes you a fairandfunky friend? I have supported fairandfunky after attending a conference through school and then SCRAPtastic workshops which my own children. I am now a director.
What little steps do you take to change the world? Recycling, connecting with nature, buying local, growing our own veggies and fruit.
Who influences or inspires you? And why? My own children and the children I work with inspire me to do more to connect with nature and our world. I’m also inspired by Helen Skelton and Maddie Moate.
How do YOU inspire others to take little steps to change the world? Through teaching I help others realise that sustainability, eco education and nature can be interwoven in the curriculum.
