‘Meet fairandfunky friends’ is our blog series in which we get to know the people we work with, understand what makes them tick, and how together we take little steps to change the world. Today we welcome our Fairtrade Conference favourite chocolatier David Greenwood-Haigh to the blog to answer our questions…..
Who are you, where are you from, and what do you do? My name is David, and I’m a chef from Wakefield. I’m lucky to have the most rewarding job in the world —I assist people worldwide in cultivating superior cocoa and appreciating its flavours authentically.
What makes you a fairandfunky friend? I’ve proudly supported fairandfunky since meeting them through Divine chocolate for over a decade now. Their commitment to empowering youth to effect positive change resonates deeply with me.
What little steps do you take to change the world? I advocate for fair trade and endeavour to connect with others, sharing anecdotes and insights to support mutual learning and understanding.
Who influences or inspires you, and why? The resilience and resourcefulness of cocoa farmers never cease to inspire me. Additionally, I’ve been deeply influenced by the innovative solutions and minds I’ve encountered along my journey.
How do YOU inspire others to take little steps to change the world? Through storytelling and amplifying the voices of cocoa farmers, I strive to instil in others a shared passion for preserving our planet with every interaction.
